Internal Sales Specialist

Job Description

July Business Services (JULY) is seeking an individual for Internal Sales Specialist. In this role, you will enjoy the unique challenge of putting your retirement plan knowledge and sales skills to work alongside a team of other retirement plan professionals. The ideal candidate for this position is a person that has experience in plan design, proactive advisor prospecting, sales pipeline management, and post-sales paperwork processes.

The Gig

  • Respond to inbound calls and build relationships with advisors and strategic partners
  • Collaborate with the external sales consultant in your territory
  • Distribute advisor leads to external sales team members
  • Organize and update investment advisor contact profiles in JULY’s Client Relationship Management Software
  • Respond to a wide variety of inquiries, including plan design, industry trends, and regulatory requirements
  • Learn and understand JULY’s business model, strengths, product offerings, and fees
  • Work with JULY regional sales directors, advisors, and prospective clients to build proposals and plan illustrations
  • Prepare retirement plan proposals and plan design options for our sales team and their prospective clients
  • Assist advisors in developing higher levels of product knowledge and sale strategies
  • Identify team goals and evaluate personal progress
  • Lead by example, exhibiting JULY’s values in communication and collaboration
  • Partner with sales support teams as needed
  • Become a subject matter expert for all JULY products and services

    Our Needs

    • 1+ years retirement plan industry experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate work experience
    • Retirement Plan Certifications (QKA, QPFC, etc.) or ability to obtain within 24 months
    • Solid understanding of retirement plan administration and recordkeeping
    • Strong computer skills including MS Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
    • Professional and concise verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills 
    • Driven personality with the ambition to compete with annual goals, year after year
    • Service focused attitude thriving on accountability, credibility, and trustworthiness
    • Builder of collaborative rapport with stellar interpersonal and relationship management skills
    • Positive influencer of change, innovation, and problem solving
    • Willingness to travel 5%
