Known around the NFL as “Mr.Clutch,” Drew Pearson rose from a free agent to being named one of the Top 20 Pro Football All-Time Leading Receivers.He was named to the 1970’s NFL Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team, named to the NFL All-Pro team three times, played in Super Bowls X, XII and XIII and was inducted into the distinguished Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor during the 2011football season.
Drew played an important role in the Dallas Cowboys success during the 70’s and early 80’s.Who can forget Drew’s game-winning “Hail Mary” touchdown catch in the 1975 playoffs against Minnesota? Or the touchdown pass that won the Thanksgiving game in the final minutes against the Washington Redskins? And then in the 1980 playoffs, the Cowboys were trailing Atlanta 27-16 when Danny White and the Cowboys rallied for the win, thanks to a pair of touchdown passes to Drew Pearson.
After retiring from pro football in 1983, Drew built a successful business, the Drew Pearson Companies, which manufactured licensed head wear for professional ball teams, Walt Disney, the Olympics and other entities.He has also worked as a radio and television sports broadcaster and is currently working with NBC-TV and ESPN radio in Dallas.Drew is a much sought after speaker for corporate programs and is active in community service.
