Actuarial Specialist

Quick Overview:

As an Actuarial Specialist at JULY, you’ll work on a team with other retirement plan professionals to support the service needs of our retirement plan clients and their investment advisors. Put your analytical skills to work and advance and grow with an innovative, fun-loving team.

Focus

  • Work directly with JULY’s actuary in reviewing year end valuations reports and illustrations
  • Actively participate in preparation of year end valuations, Schedule SB, and PBGC filings
  • Provide training and direction to the actuarial processing team members on operational and technical matters
  • Serve as the actuarial subject matter expert to assist the Client Service Managers with questions from retirement plan sponsors and advisors
    Additional Objectives and Duties
  • Provide training and direction to the actuarial processing team members on operational and technical matters
  • Build strong relationships with plan sponsors and advisors through delivery of our value propositions to ensure satisfaction and longevity
  • Maintain knowledge regarding industry trends and legislative/regulatory requirements and changes
  • Serve as a technical resource to the JULY sales team on prospective actuarial opportunities
  • Assist with plan terminations and departures
  • Prioritize, research and resolve client questions related to technology, plan operation, compliance and other matters
  • Reach out to subject matter experts when the situation demands: ERISA Consulting, Recordkeeping, Distributions, Plan Administration, Participant Services, Technology
  • Utilize strong communication and service skills to exceed the needs of plan sponsors and advisors
  • Know and understand JULY’s business model, strengths and product offering
  • Document projects and responses within JULYs CRM software tool

Skills / Experience / Credentials

  • 5+ Years Actuarial Plan Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Match, Actuarial Science, or other Related Field Highly Preferred
  • Proven ability to pass actuarial exams and desire to continue to pursue the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
