Communications Manager

General Description

July Business Services (JULY) is seeking an individual as Communications Manager. In this role you will enjoy the unique challenge of putting your communication and branding skills to work alongside a team of other professionals.  This cross functional position partners with Sales, Product Development, Operations, Client Services, Institutional Partners, and the public. Ideal candidates will use their creative talents to communicate effectively though written materials, articles, forms, newsletters, websites, video production, collateral, and everyday communications. This position reports to the VP of Business Development & Marketing.

Job Objective

Manage communications by working in a professional marketing team environment supporting and promoting the JULY brand, communications, products and services, websites, growth support, and services messaging.  Create and implement communications, internal and external, that effectively describes and/or promotes. Work collaboratively with department leads on creating consistent messaging, voice, and call-to-actions.

Duties

  • Develop the communications messaging on new and existing products
  • Develop communications campaigns as needed by various departments
  • Develop and implement internal communications protocols
  • Review, update, and manage current communications (email templates, workflow documents, etc.) for consistency
  • Lead and development, revise, manage client newsletters
  • Assist with websites management (hosted and managed by outside marketing firm)
  • Manage social media accounts and report statistics and trends
  • Draft press releases and other articles as needed
  • Assist with event coordination (conference sponsorship and smaller regional events)
  • Edit based on various departmental needs

Experience / Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or Public Relations or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3+ years of communications experience preferred
  • Financial services experience a plus
  • Advanced professional writing and editing skills
  • Experience with various desktop publishing software
  • Effectively adapt and alter content for various media sources
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently to meet position requirements
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple projects
  • Occasional travel for conferences and/or client and vendor meetings
  • Ability to maintain a general working knowledge employee retirement plans
  • Broad or general knowledge of personal finance
