As JULY’s Director of Actuarial Services, you will enjoy the unique opportunity and challenge of managing and helping build our firm’s DB and Cash Balance practice. As you demonstrate excellence as a producing actuary and department manager, you will find opportunity for leadership growth in our organization over the next three to five years. The Director of Actuarial Services reports to JULY’s Chief Operating Officer.
Focus
- Provide training and supervision to actuarial team members.
- Oversee technical service delivery include escalation and training for 20+ Client Service Managers.
- Work with our national sales team to prepare illustrations for prospective clients and serve as a technical sales resource.
Job Duties
- Provide training and supervision to actuarial team members on operational and technical matters, including U.S. and overseas team members.
- Review valuations, confirm plan funding calculations, review plan testing, sign Schedule SB, approve PBGC filings, review benefit calculations, and assist with plan terminations and departures.
- Oversee technical service delivery include escalation and training for 20+ Client Service Managers.
- Work with our national sales team to prepare illustrations for prospective clients and serve as a technical sales resource.
- Manage actuarial team members and their workload, including managing departmental metrics.
- Collaborate with other operational leaders on enhancing JULY’s processes, products, and services.
Skills / Experience / Credentials
- Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation.
- 7+ years of retirement plan experience.
- Extensive experience with small business retirement plans.
- Leadership and employee management skills.
- Desire and aptitude for being a strong, collaborative team member.
