General Description
As an Internal Accounting Specialist at JULY, you will enjoy the unique opportunity of learning and building important accounting skills and managing an essential part of our technology enabled accounting processes. The person in this role will initially be responsible for using our proprietary accounting technology to calculate and send monthly 401(k) invoices for JULY and our advisor partners. You will learn the fundamentals of internal accounting in the 401(k) industry, participate in process and software development enhancements, and have the opportunity to build an accounting career in a growing and innovative company.
Objectives and Duties
- Calculate, reconcile, and send 401(k) invoices to clients for JULY fees
- Calculate, reconcile, and send 401(k) invoices to clients for investment advisor partners
- Reconcile and maintain master fee bank accounts at custodian partners
- Learn JULY’s internal accounting and billing processes and participate in process improvement
- Assists with special accounting projects
- Maintain and perform quality control on client fee agreements for billing
- Review and respond to client questions regarding 401(k) invoices
Skills / Experience / Credentials
- Attention to detail and deadline oriented
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Aptitude for using technology, including Microsoft Excel and accounting related software
- Understanding of general accounting concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ideal candidates include recent college graduates seeking to attain their CPA certificate
