Participant Services Associate

General Description

July Business Services is a national retirement plan services firm that specializes in helping small and mid-size employers and their investment advisor set up and operate 401(k)s and other types of retirement plans. We combine innovation and technology with hands-on service and support to make retirement plans easy for our clients. We are now seeking individuals for work-from-home position of Participant Service Associate. The person in this role will be part of a team that takes phone calls and chat requests from 401(k) plan account holders to assist them with questions about their retirement plan. The position is a great starting point to learn and build a career in financial services with a specialization in the 401(k) and retirement plan industry. The individual in this role will gain the training and knowledge needed to further their career and have an opportunity to earn industry certifications that will help with future advancements.

Objectives and Duties

  • Successfully respond to incoming phone calls and emails from retirement plan participants
  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and knowledgably with clients, participants, advisors, and co-workers
  • Support Distributions team for participant retirement plan withdrawal requests
  • Participate in on-going training to gain comprehensive knowledge of retirement plans
  • Collaborate with team members to continually improve department and company performance
  • Request information from plan sponsors as requested by other JULY departments
  • Utilize strong communication and service skills to exceed the needs of clients
  • Meet predefined individual, departmental, and company key performance indicators (KPIs)

Skills / Experience / Credentials

  • Fluent in Spanish and English is a key requirement
  • 2+ years of customer service or retirement plan experience
  • Strong written and verbal customer service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and follow tasks through to completion
  • Desire and willingness to serve clients and be empathetic to their needs
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
