Job Description
July Business Services (JULY) views the Manager Role as a key to the firm’s Payroll Services function. Primarily responsible for leading our team of payroll processing professionals through timely and accurate of approximately 160 payrolls for small companies. Tasked with driving employee performance and engagement, continuous improvement, and results, the Manager of Payroll Services will enhance JULY’s client satisfaction of our payroll services. The Manager reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer in a private equity (PE) backed business.
The Gig
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the payroll department.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 160 clients.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures.
- Manage and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
- Supervise and train payroll staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless payroll integration.
- Lead by example, exhibiting the company’s core values.
Our Needs
- 5+ years of experience in payroll management.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems, preferably UKG and MPay.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Our Wants
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Various systems application knowledge including UKG and MPay, Excel, etc.
