401k Recordkeeping Manager

Quick Overview:
As a 401k Recordkeeping Manager, you’ll draw on your years of experience to lead a team responsible for completing daily recordkeeping tasks. This highly collaborative role reports to the Director of Recordkeeping Operations and ensures timely, accurate, and efficient completion of JULY’s 401k recordkeeping processes.

Focus:

  • Oversee daily recordkeeping operations, including daily fund reconciliations, negative cash balances, fund changes, aging cash and daily cases and tasks from the service teams
  • Help team members prioritize, research, and resolve requests and tasks assigned from Client Service Managers or other team members
  • Actively coach, train and support recordkeeping team employees

Primary Job Objectives

Review and monitor team processes and support team members to ensure work it is completed daily.
  • Oversee daily recordkeeping operations, including daily fund reconciliations, negative cash balances, fund changes, aging cash and daily cases and tasks from the service teams.
  • Help team members prioritize, research, and resolve requests and tasks assigned from the Client Service Managers or other team members.
  • Hold one-on-one meetings with recordkeeping employees to provide coaching and support and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Train new hires and identify training opportunities for current staff.

Other Responsibilities

  • Serve as the internal recordkeeping contact for a small block of retirement plans.
  • Utilize strong communication and service skills to meet the needs of clients and team members.
  • Understand and communicate key recordkeeping functions to support internal team members.
  • Document and manage projects within JULYs CRM software tool.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and legislative/regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with process improvements and technology innovation to ensure operations are efficient.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Mastery of 401k recordkeeping processes.
  • 5 to 10 years experience with 401(k) Recordkeeping.
  • Experience with FIS Relius Recordkeeping Software a Plus.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • QKA designation preferred.

Installation Coordinator

Quick Overview:
As JULY’s Installation Coordinator, you will be responsible for proactively guiding clients through the installation process, accurately and efficiently, while providing friendly service and setting the stage for a long-term relationship with JULY.

Focus:

  • Serve as the project manager on new relationship installations
  • Offer high-level consulting on industry and compliance topics.
  • Communicate the procedures of plan operations to clients.
  • Educate plan sponsors on plan highlights and new operational processes and provide training where needed.

  • Serve as the project manager on new relationship installations with effective communication with all parties involved.
  • Utilize our expertise through high-level consulting on industry and compliance topics.
  • Communicate the procedures of plan operations to clients in an understandable and effective manner.
  • Create appropriate expectations for the client and the advisor throughout the installation process.
  • Educate plan sponsors of plan highlights and new operational processes and provide training where needed.
  • Work in a team environment with other internal departments to complete various projects.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to the DataPath Installation Team when necessary.
  • Continually evaluate within a team environment on improvements for the installation process and the overall client experience.

  • Client focused and host personality with the ability to understand the complex details of database setup, detailed internal operation process and complex industry regulations.

Director of Actuarial Services

The Director of Actuarial Services reports to JULY’s Chief Operating Officer.

  • Provide training and supervision to actuarial team members
  • Oversee technical service delivery include escalation and training for 20+ Client Service Managers
  • Work with our national sales team to prepare illustrations for prospective clients and serve as a technical sales resource.

  • Provide training and supervision to actuarial team members on operational and technical matters, including U.S. and overseas team members.
  • Review valuations, confirm plan funding calculations, review plan testing, sign Schedule SB, approve PBGC filings, review benefit calculations, and assist with plan terminations and departures.
  • Oversee technical service delivery include escalation and training for 20+ Client Service Managers.
  • Work with our national sales team to prepare illustrations for prospective clients and serve as a technical sales resource.
  • Manage actuarial team members and their workload, including managing departmental metrics.
  • Collaborate with other operational leaders on enhancing JULY’s processes, products, and services.

Skills / Experience / Credentials

  • Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation.
  • 7+ years of retirement plan experience.
  • Extensive experience with small business retirement plans.
  • Leadership and employee management skills.
  • Desire and aptitude for being a strong, collaborative team member.
