Vice President, Actuarial Services, JULY (July Business Services)

Matt Bravo is Vice President of Actuarial Services at JULY, where he brings deep technical expertise in cash balance plan design and actuarial administration with a focus on the small plan market. Based in the Nashville area, Matt brings over 25 years of experience in retirement and actuarial services and is known for his rigorous approach to complex plan design paired with a genuine passion for helping clients find solutions that work.

In his role at JULY, Matt leads actuarial services with a specialization in cash balance and defined benefit plan design. He works closely with advisors and plan sponsors to structure retirement plans that are both technically sound and strategically aligned with client goals, bringing precision and clarity to even the most intricate actuarial challenges.

Prior to joining JULY in 2024, Matt served as Managing Actuary at Acuff and Associates in Brentwood, Tennessee, where he spent over six years leading actuarial work for retirement plan clients. He previously held roles as Actuarial Consultant at Matthews Benefit Group, Enrolled Actuary at Ascensus Consulting, and Actuarial Analyst at Towers Perrin, building a well-rounded foundation across plan administration, consulting, and institutional actuarial work.

Matt holds a BA in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from the University of Pennsylvania and is credentialed as an Enrolled Actuary by the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries, a distinction that reflects both his technical depth and his commitment to upholding the highest standards of the profession.

Outside of work, Matt brings that same dedication to the things he loves most. A lifelong performer, he has been involved in community and professional theater since elementary school and continues to pursue it as a hobby. He is also an enthusiastic home cook with a deep appreciation for the craft, a passion rooted in years of Sunday dinners with his large Italian family. And true to his night-owl nature, some of his best thinking happens well after midnight.
