Sheri A. Baker

Sheri Baker is Managing Director of Wealth & Advisory Services at Expand Financial, where she brings deep expertise in qualified plan design, consulting, and retirement plan strategy. Based in Mansfield, Ohio, Sheri brings more than 25 years of experience in the retirement and financial services industry and is known for her technical depth, entrepreneurial leadership, and genuine dedication to helping clients and advisors succeed.

Sheri specializes in qualified plan design and consulting, open architecture recordkeeping, and the tax and accounting dimensions of retirement plan strategy. She works closely with advisors and plan sponsors to develop customized plan designs and to guide them through every step of implementing and managing successful retirement plan solutions.

Sheri’s career is defined by the firm she built. In 1999, she founded Summit Benefit Solutions, Inc., serving as President and growing it into a respected provider of qualified plan design, consulting, and open architecture recordkeeping services. In 2019, Summit Benefit Solutions partnered with JULY through a merger, and Sheri joined JULY as Partner and Chief Financial Officer, helping align the two firms while continuing to serve clients with the same hands-on approach she’s known for.

Sheri holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, and Marketing from Davis and Elkins College. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and she holds the Associated Professional Member (APM) designation, reflecting a strong foundation in tax, accounting, and retirement plan consulting.

Outside of work, Sheri is an early riser who appreciates the quiet beauty of sunrise and the gift of a new day. She and her husband are enthusiastic travelers who love the spontaneity of life on the road in their RV, whether that means parking overnight at a Cracker Barrel or making new friends at a campsite. A passionate home cook, she enjoys discovering new recipes to share with family and friends, especially around the holidays. Sheri is also a devoted dog person, thanks to Curly, the family’s Spanish Water Dog. And no matter the setting, you’ll usually find a good cup of coffee close at hand.
