Vice President of Sales

Job Description

July Business Services (JULY) views the Vice President (VP) of Sales as a key to the success of the firm’s growth goals. Primarily responsible for exceeding sales goals by sharpening and executing the strategy, enhancing the structure of a proven sales team, and growing leaders across multiple sales channels. Tasked with driving consultative sales, the VP of Sales will enrich JULY’s sales strategy, set expectations, and drive success while growing the team. The VP of Sales reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer in a private equity (PE) backed business.

The Gig

  • Exceed organic and channel sales goals by polishing and executing a sophisticated, metrics driven sales strategy.
  • Lead by example, motivate daily, and regularly develop a team of high performing sales professionals selling to employers and financial advisors/institutions.
  • Incent the right sales behaviors, aligning goals and strategies with company values.
  • Strengthen the brand by utilizing a deep understanding of the retirement plan industry, trends, competitors, and regulatory changes as part of the consultative sales strategy fine tuning and execution.
  • Share expertise around building and cultivating robust channel relationships.
  • Oversee performance measurement and reporting, incorporating sales budgets, activities, and goals.
  • Lead the interviewing, selection, and training plans for new sales teammates.
  • Be the internal and external subject matter expert for all products and services and present at large industry events.
  • Work in tandem with marketing team to enhance positioning and convert sales.
  • Partner seamlessly with cross functional teams and leaders to foster teamwork, shared success, and efficiency.
  • Travel routinely to support new and key partner relationships.
  • Perform managerial tasks regularly and complete ad hoc projects when necessary.

Our Needs

  • 15+ years retirement plan industry experience
  • 10+ years in a sales leadership role managing a team across multiple verticals
  • Bachelor’s Degree with QPFC, QKA, or equivalent designation
  • Solid understanding of retirement plan administration and recordkeeping
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
  • Professional and concise communication skills (written, verbal, and non-verbal)
  • Driven personality with the ambition to compete with annual goals, year over year
  • Service focused attitude thriving on accountability, credibility, and trustworthiness
  • Proven positive leader of people with strong followership
  • Builder of collaborative rapport with stellar interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Positive influencer of change, innovation, and problem solving
  • Willingness to travel 25% domestically
