What is your favorite book?
“This is a tough one, as I have read so many books since I was a teenager – I was grounded a lot! 😬 If I have to choose one and only one, I would have to go with From Sea to Shining Sea, by James Alexander Thom. This is a historical fiction book about the Clark family and their impact on American history as we know it today, including William Clark’s exploration west. I could not put this book down and at nearly 900 pages it took a while to get through it. But once I finished, I had a serious book hangover. It was hard to pick up another book because nothing else would hold up to that one!”
Name one item you would take with you on a deserted island.
“I’m between chapstick and coffee for this one — it’s a real horse race. But if I’m honest with myself, chapstick wins. At least I won’t be miserable and caffeine-deprived at the same time.”
What is your favorite artist or band?
“Well, my favorite band is a very polarizing one. You either love them or hate them – Pink Floyd. Was this a band before my time? Yes. But I grew up listening to Pink Floyd on drives with my dad, and they were my very first concert. Their music transports me to another place and time, and it makes me feel. It’s a whole experience.”
Are you a traveler or a homebody?
“A traveler! I want to see the world and experience every culture — there’s nothing like standing somewhere completely new and feeling how different, yet how similar people’s lives really are.”
