A few things you might not know about Blake…
What is your absolute dream job?
“I would love to be an NCAA Basketball official. Most officials own their own business so my wife and friends tell me that it is still something I can pursue one of these days. I learned to officiate games when I was in junior high and I officiated in kids and adult leagues during high school and college. I came to enjoy the officiating even more than playing basketball. This dream keeps me going to the gym at 5am every morning so I will be in good shape the day I decide to live out my dream!”
If I had the option of pursuing a different career, what would it be?
“As much as I love retirement plans and being a CPA, if I had it to do all over again, I would pursue a career as a Division 1 Athletic Director. For me it would be the perfect combination of sports and business. Although I might have to find a way to control my competitive drive in that environment.”
You have to sing Karaoke, what song do you pick?
“More than Words by Extreme or Nothing Compares 2U by Sinead O’Connor (yes, I hit those teenage years in 1990).”
Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or nighttime? Why?
“Sunrise for sure. And I don’t even need coffee (it smells so bad to me I have never even tried it)! I am not a great sleeper, so I am always awake early, even on Saturdays when my wife wants to sleep in. I can pop right out of bed and be ready to go to the gym or sit down to my computer and my mind is ready to start working.”
