Director, Marketing & Communications

A few things you might not know about Leslie…

If you were a wrestler, what would be your entrance theme song?

“Hands down, my wrestler theme song would have to be Killing Me Softly by the Fujees. I’d walk in slowly, shrouded in my sparkling cloak to the slow intro and as the tempo and beat kick up, I’d reveal my tan, muscular frame and my mean battle stance. Watch out!”

What movie quotes do you use on a regular basis?

“I find myself saying “That’s what happens, Larry” from The Big Lebowski quite often. The kids don’t eat dinner and wonder why there’s no dessert…”that’s what happens, Larry” or binge on candy and have a belly ache, …”that’s what happens, Larry.” As a believer in “natural consequences” parenting and a Jeff Bridges fan, I find weekly excuses to quote The Dude.”

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

“I would love to effortlessly play the piano…anything that popped into my head. When I need a break during the day, I’ll often sit down at the piano and pick out a song. I think I have a knack for it but very little time and no formal training….but one day I’ll be an expert!”

What is your favorite book?

“The Pig of Happiness by Edward Monkton. This is a children’s book that was given to me by my first boss in the financial services sector. He said it reminded him of me. I am still so touched by the gesture. I read the book to my kids and cite it often. My favorite part is “The day after that, when Pig B was RUDE about Pig C’s bottom and all the other pigs joined in…the Pig of Happiness gave Pig C a FLOWER and said in front of all the other pigs that he thought Pig C had a BEAUTIFUL bottom actually.”

What game have you spent the most hours playing?

“In the Manner of the Word. This game is so much fun! You will laugh hysterically. Years ago we played this with a big group that included my mild-mannered father. Seeing him drink a glass of wine “seductively” makes me laugh to this day.”
