Vice President of Information Technology

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Information Technology to oversee our company’s IT infrastructure, hardware, networking, cloud-based systems, internal software (including email and Office 365), and other technology-related assets. The Vice President of Information Technology is a strategic position and is responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and continuity of our technology systems to support the organization’s operations and strategic objectives. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned technology professional to take on a strategic leadership role and make a significant impact on the company’s technology landscape. The Vice President of Information Technology will play a critical role in ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure and systems while driving innovation and continuous improvement. This role is remote with travel as needed.

The Gig

  • Lead (by example) and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback for meaningful career growth.
  • Routinely demonstrate our core values to best serve our mission and achieve our vision.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand technology needs and develop IT strategies aligned with business objectives. This is a high-level role that focuses on long-term planning, setting overall strategic direction and goals and defining the roadmap for the IT department.
  • Oversee the company’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, networking, servers, storage, and Microsoft Azure cloud-based systems, supporting more than 600 end users in multiple locations.
  • Manage and maintain internal software systems, including email, Office 365, collaboration tools, and other business applications.
  • Lead and manage IT-related projects, ensuring successful project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Oversee an internal help desk for technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Work with the CISO to maintain and implement IT security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company data and systems from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Oversee risk management and compliance efforts related to IT systems and data. Ensure that IT operations adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and security protocols. Implement IT governance frameworks and mitigate IT-related risks.
  • Apply expertise to configure and manage Platform as a Service (PAAS) solutions as needed, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance application scalability.
  • Oversee, maintain, test, and evolve the IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the availability of critical systems and data.
  • Conduct daily standup meetings with the network infrastructure team to discuss ongoing activities, address challenges, and promote efficient communication.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, service level agreements, and performance evaluation.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to IT infrastructure, security, and business continuity. Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Assist in managing the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.

  • Demonstrated success in leadership, team building, mentoring, coaching, and supervising IT professionals and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Experience in developing and implementing IT security policies and procedures.
  • Experience in managing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
